Massachusetts STABBLING Rampage: Suspect Apprehended After ATTACKS on Four Kids and Two Adults

A man was arrested on Saturday after six individuals, including four kids aged 9 to 17, were stabbed in separate crimes that Massachusetts authorities believe are linked.

According to Braintree police, the girls were attacked at a movie theater and had non-life-threatening injuries before being transported to Boston hospitals for treatment. About an hour later, a 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old male were stabbed at a Plymouth McDonald’s and transported to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Jared Ravizza, a suspect in the McDonald’s stabbings, was apprehended 15 minutes after fleeing the scene Saturday night and charged with several assaults, according to a news release from the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.

Ravizza, 26, is the suspect in “multiple South Shore stabbing incidents,” according to the attorney’s office, but no other information was supplied. According to Braintree police, the attacks at the movie theater and McDonald’s, which occurred around an hour apart, appear to be related.

The stabbing of the four females at the AMC occurred at 6 p.m. in Braintree. An AMC staffer informed CNN that the theater was placed on lockdown immediately after the incident occurred.

“Without saying anything and without warning, he suddenly attacked and stabbed the four young females,” police added. “The attack seemed to be unprovoked. Following the attack, the man fled the theater in a car.

Police determined the suspect had left the cinema in what seemed to be a black SUV, and surveillance footage allowed officials to catch its license plate, according to the release. A vehicle matching the description was “reportedly involved in a similar assault in Plymouth,” roughly a 30-minute drive south of Braintree, according to police.

Prosecutors said Ravizza came to the Plymouth McDonald’s stabbing scene in a black Porsche Macan SUV. The district attorney’s office reported that police were called to the scene around 7 p.m., almost an hour after the AMC attack in Braintree.

According to authorities, surveillance footage from a McDonald’s shows Ravizza reaching through the drive-through window and stabbing the male victim with a huge knife. According to the district attorney’s office, the video shows the suspect parking his automobile, entering the restaurant, and stabbing the female victim before escaping in the car.

Within minutes, state troopers had identified the suspect’s vehicle, but it refused to stop when they attempted to pull it over. Police pursued the vehicle, which crashed near Sandwich, around 25 minutes south of Plymouth, according to police.

“Preliminary investigation suggests a likely connection to an earlier incident at a movie theatre in Braintree resulting in non-life threatening injuries to four juveniles,” the state police stated.

Ravizza was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a hospital on Sunday, according to the prosecutor’s office.

Ravizza will face various charges in connection with the McDonald’s stabbings, including assault with intent to murder and two counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon, according to authorities. He is set to appear in court on Tuesday.

CNN was unable to locate a counsel for Ravizza, but has sought additional information from the Massachusetts State Police, Plymouth County District counsel’s Office, and Braintree Police.

The Massachusetts State Police are conducting an active and ongoing investigation.

Separately, Connecticut State Police announced that a suspect in the killing of a Deep River resident had been apprehended in Massachusetts. Police in neither state have confirmed that the Connecticut case is linked to those in Massachusetts.

According to a statement posted late Saturday, Connecticut State Police responded Saturday afternoon to a “disturbance” at a town address. Police discovered a “deceased individual” whose identification has yet to be determined, according to Connecticut State Police.

“A suspect in this investigation has been taken into custody in the State of Massachusetts and there is no active threat to the public,” the press announcement stated. It did not name the suspect.
