Massive lorry fire closes major motorway as inferno spreads to road embankment sparking travel chaos

Travel disruption has been caused by a LORRY fire that has closed a major freeway and spread to the road embankment.

Between Saddleworth Junction 22 and Huddersfield and Halifax Junction 24, the M62 is closed in an eastbound direction.

National Highways has also issued a warning to drivers to exercise caution because the fire has spread over the motorway’s embankment and the truck was transporting sawdust.

While the fire department extinguishes the fire, the disturbance is anticipated to last for a while.
