Matthew Stafford makes major retirement decision at age of 36 moments after devastating LA Rams loss to Eagles
After losing to the Philadelphia Eagles, Matthew Stafford, a star for the Los Angeles Rams, gave a significant clue about his future.
Despite his impressive performance on Sunday, the quarterback was unable to save his side from losing 28–22.
This season’s dreams of winning another Super Bowl were dashed with the loss at Lincoln Financial Field.
To take on the Washington Commanders, the Eagles advanced from the Divisional round.
Next Sunday, the two will play each other in the NFC Championship Game.
But after the tie over the weekend, Stafford’s future was the talk of the town.

The quarterback, who is 36, has been rumored to be nearing the conclusion of his illustrious career.
He did, however, seem to indicate that he would prefer to continue playing.
Stafford made a suggestion that he will take some time off this summer to discuss his long-term goals with his family.
“As far as my future goes, it’s 30 minutes after the last game so I’ll take some time to think about it,” he stated.
“But I feel like I was playing some pretty good ball.”
The question of whether he still had “good football” left in him was then posed.
“Sure feels like it,” he said in response.
Against the Eagles, Stafford passed for 324 yards and two touchdowns.
That was in spite of the stadium being battered by a strong snowstorm for the majority of the match.
The Rams’ hopes were dashed, though, when he failed to execute a late fourth-down opportunity.
