Although nothing has been officially announced, McDonald’s had been hinting at the Snack Wrap’s return in recent months.
Despite being discontinued in 2016, the product was nevertheless offered at a few places around the country until 2020, contingent on the choices made by individual franchise owners.

GRILLED, PLEASE
However, a number of consumers express their disapproval if it isn’t the “original.”
“If it’s not the original grilled, I don’t want it,” a commenter said on Devo’s post.
Previously, there were two types of snack wraps: grilled and crispy chicken.
McDonald’s will have “failed us again” if the returned snack wraps don’t work out, according to another consumer.
There has been no indication that a grilled version will be available in addition to the McCrispy Snack Wrap, which is the one that will be released in 2025.
A lot of other people are simply happy that the Snack Wrap is back at all.
“Never should’ve been discontinued,” one customer commented.
“Can’t wait,” said another.
The McDonald’s Snack Wrap
Nearly ten years after the item vanished off the menu, fans have been pleading with the fast food restaurant to reinstate it.
2006: Snack wraps were initially offered on menus across the country.
In 2016, McDonald’s started to phase out the wrap because both current and previous staff felt it was too time-consuming and complicated in comparison to the cost to customers.
2020: For a number of years, a few separate franchises in the US were still able to produce and market the snack wraps. The item was taken off of all McDonald’s locations nationwide by 2020.
2023: McDonald’s announced that in the upcoming years, it will put more of an emphasis on its chicken items, including a snack wrap.
2024: McCrispy chicken strips, a crucial component of the snack wrap, were observed being tested in North Carolina stores.
2025: In the US, snack wraps will be offered again.
STRATEGIC MOVE
The president and CEO of McDonald’s, Joe Erlinger, stated that he has been receiving emails pleading for the Snack Wrap to come back for a while.
He said, “It has a cult following,” in an interview with ABC News.
“I get so many emails into my inbox about this product.”
Despite being phased out in the US, snack wraps continued to appear on menus abroad over time.
McDonald’s decision to reinstate it, according to Erlinger, was motivated by “competitive reasons.”
