McDonald’s promises probe after fans get ‘bamboozled’ from holiday cup snub – and workers didn’t even know about them
Some consumers have received assurances from McDonald’s that they are investigating a difference with their recent coffee orders.
Customers who purchased the fast food giant’s reasonably priced breakfast staple were hoping for a different cup design than what they received.
It was revealed earlier this month that McDonald’s McCaf would begin serving holiday-themed cups on November 18.
All of this is a part of the business’s new “Good Mornin” campaign, which celebrates “the simple act of saying good morning and spreading a little joy through daily coffee moments.”
McDonald’s worked with artist Scott Martin and Doodles, an entertainment firm founded by Pharrell Williams and originally an NFT project, to produce three variations for small, medium, and large McCaf coffees that are ideal for the season.
Each has distinctive, vibrant personalities that are enjoying the winter and receiving gifts at the last minute.

Julian Holguin, CEO of Doodles, said in a statement, “We’re thrilled to bring a fun experience to our community, to introduce millions of fans to Doodles, and to spread some joy with morning coffee this holiday season.”
Despite the fact that the Doodles holiday cups have been distributed all around the country since Monday, some people have complained that they have yet to receive theirs after placing a McDonald’s coffee order.
MISSING OUT
“Got bamboozled at our local @McDonalds no gm for us @doodles,” a customer in Aposton X exclaimed.
Another added, “We too got rugged by @McDonalds.”
In an attempt to find solutions, both customers included images of the typical yellow McCaf cups.
In a prompt response to the initial customer, McDonald’s stated that they will investigate the reason behind their local chain’s failure to provide the Doodles mugs for their morning coffees.
“Hey! We hear you. We’ll investigate for you if you DM us with the restaurant’s address,” the official McDonald’s account replied.
After the nationwide distribution, it’s likely that their local McDonald’s hadn’t received the Doodles holiday cups yet, however it’s unknown why the customers weren’t handed them.
DIGITAL DEAL
According to Food & Wine, there are additional ways to benefit from the Doodles relationship in the interim.
The exclusive “pack ripping” experience, which includes a variety of Doodles-themed products such as digital wearables for avatars, access to Doodles animated material on the Stoodio platform, and more, is available to customers who purchase coffee through the McDonald’s mobile app.
In addition, the music video for Marley Bleu’s new song “Good Mornin'” and co-branded clothing and accessories from McDonald’s and Doodles are scheduled to be released in early December.
The song was produced by Pharrell, a former employee of McDonald’s.
The Doodles line was developed in an attempt to make the company’s coffee even more “special” after years of meticulously perfecting the formula, stressed Tariq Hassan, chief marketing officer at McDonald’s.
“It may not be the first thing you think about when you talk about McDonald’s, but coffee is an integral part of the McDonald’s experience,” Hassan said in a statement.
“We’ve relentlessly worked to make it taste better year over year, investing in new technology and educating crew teams on coffee culture in an effort to deliver a more consistent, fresher cup of coffee every time.”
