Meet Ashley Wenskoski, college football reporter who ‘was hit on by mascot’ during game as fans say ‘can’t blame him’
Sports reporter Ashley Wenskoski is accustomed to posing challenging queries.
However, the 24-year-old asserted that while on assignment on Saturday, she had to respond to one of her own questions.
Wenskoski works for the media outlet CNY Central, which is situated in New York State, and covers college football.
One of the outlet’s largest assignments is the football team of Syracuse University.
On Saturday, the Syracuse Orange defeated the Miami Hurricanes, who were ranked sixth, 42-38.
In front of their home crowd at JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, New York, the university overcame a 21-0 deficit to win a thrilling game.

Additionally, Wenskoski disclosed a strange incident that happened late in that game.
“Miami’s mascot, Sebastian the Ibis, just knelt down and asked for my number mid-drive,” she posted on X.
With his team in the fourth quarter and on the ropes, it seems like he has more important things to worry about.
“But who am I to say.”
Wenskoski has chosen to concentrate on the football rather than openly address the problem.
“More importantly, Syracuse football won its biggest game in years,” she stated on X on Monday.

“I suppose the mascot for Miami was unable to witness that fourth quarter. You can’t hold him responsible.

The reporter’s X account has more than 5,000 followers.
How the 12-team CFP works
On Friday, December 20, the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff will begin.
Who will enter, though?
Around New Year’s, the top four conference winners will all receive a first-round bye to the quarterfinals.
Even if they are not among the top 12 teams in the country, the fifth-highest conference champion will also be guaranteed a spot.
This guarantees a champion from a conference in the second tier will have the opportunity to compete for the national title.
On Friday, December 20, or Saturday, December 21, teams ranked five through eight will host a first-round playoff game.
Additionally, they will face the nine- through twelve-seeded teams.
The CFP committee determines all of these rankings and seedings, among other things, by looking at schedule strength and record.
The National Championship Game this year will be held in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, on Monday, January 20.
