Mega Millions prize worth $3 million remains unclaimed – and ticket was bought at a grocery store
MEGA Millions players have been urged to check their numbers as a $3 million prize still hasn’t been claimed.
Lotto chiefs have confirmed that no player has come forward to scoop the winnings.
The winning Mega Millions ticket dates back to a draw that took place on November 8.
Bosses have revealed that it was bought at the Cumberland Farms store in Southington, Connecticut.
The player came close to winning the jackpot as they just missed out by one number.
But they still managed to scoop $3 million as they matched five balls and took advantage of the Megaplier.

The ticket holder faces a race against time to come forward and claim their prize, as the deadline is 180 days from the draw date.
The Mega Millions jackpot was not won, meaning the prize rolled over to $361 million.
The next draw is today, November 12, and it has an estimated cash option of $169.2 million.
It costs just $2 to play the game of chance, and prizes range from $2 to the jackpot amount.
But the odds of winning the jackpot stand at one in 302.5 million.
Other prizes range from $4 to $1 million, but players can multiply them if they opt for the Megaplier.
But Mega Millions fanatics have been warned that a series of changes are to affect the popular lottery game.
Bosses have revealed winners will see improved odds to win jackpot prizes.
Larger pots will occur more frequently, and jackpots will grow faster, according to lotto bosses.
Joshua Johnston, the director of the Mega Millions consortium, claimed that more billionaires will be created, per the Los Angeles Times.
Mega Millions is making eight crucial changes to its lottery game starting in April 2025. Each is listed below:
- Bigger jackpots occurring more frequently
- Odds improved for jackpot wins
- Larger jackpot starting points
- Jackpots grow faster than before
- Tickets include a built-in multiplier that automatically adds 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, or even 10X for wins
- Matching all five white balls now results in up to a $10 million win
- Wins are always more than the cost of the ticket
- The cost of a ticket is increasing to $5
“With that embedded multiplier, we’re going to be creating more millionaires each week because there’s more money going out,” he said.
However, the cost of a ticket will jump up to $5, the second increase in its 28-year history.
“We also know that $5 is a very popular price point for other lottery games available in most states, so there is appetite for that,” a lotto spokesperson told CNBC.
Players don’t seem to be put off by the pending price hike.
