Meghan and Harry won’t win back public – people want royal drama, not their woke TV projects

The Prince However, experts predict that Harry’s upcoming polo-themed Netflix series won’t be as popular as their royal docuseries.

Vanity Fair’s royal correspondent, Katie Nicholl, stated on the most recent episode of The Sun’s Royal Exclusive Show that fans are more interested in their royal drama than in polo or their woke ventures.

How interested are people in polo, the royal expert clarified?

Getting bums on seats after the Harry and Meghan documentary series, which was so captivating to watch since it focused on their departure, is the issue, she continued.

Their new lives were the subject.

People wanted to watch that and tune in.

This will not have the same widespread appeal, in my opinion.

On December 8, 2022, the six-part Harry & Meghan documentary series, The Sussexes, was made available on Netflix. It included behind-the-scenes information on leaving royal duties.

Many fans objected to their criticism of the royal family, while others appreciated a behind-the-scenes glimpse into their lives.

Harry said that Prince William “screamed and shouted” at him during a heated meeting, and he also claimed that there is a “huge level of unconscious bias” in the royal family. These were just two of the startling accusations made on the broadcast.

The Heart of Invictus documentary series, which followed six competitors in the 2022 Invictus Games, was Harry’s second Netflix endeavor.

Katie said, “I mean, the viewing figures for that were okay when you compare it to the documentary that Harry did on the Invictus Games, which is arguably a far more worthy topic than polo, which is a bit racy and a little different.”

It seems improbable to me that anything will be comparable to the documentary series. Let’s wait and find out.

The royal expert did note, however, that Disney’s Rivals, which is based on the same-titled Jilly Cooper novel from 1988, has been a huge hit.

Regarding the trailer for Prince Harry’s Polo event, Katie said: “I think it’s beautifully produced when you watch it, which is very beautiful.”

It’s really sleek.

In my opinion, Rivals is currently doing quite well on Disney.

Polo is a best-selling book written by Jilly Cooper. In fact, there is a chance that it will perform well.

The problem, she noted, would be attracting viewers to the show, which premieres on December 10.

Confusing sport

Richard Palmer, a royal correspondent, concurred and noted that polo rules might be difficult to understand.

Their issue, he continued, is that while people are curious about their royal lives, they may not be as interested in the other products they create.

According to what I gather, the Invictus series’ viewership was a letdown.

Even after seeing innumerable polo matches, I still don’t fully get the regulations.

Richard felt that Prince Harry playing the lead would increase Polo’s chances of success.

“As far as we know, he’s not in it, but I think it probably would have had a better chance if he was,” Katie continued.

It’s pretty clear that Meghan is doing her cooking show, therefore it’s a significant risk for him to be executive producing.

She will play a key role in it.

And I continue to believe that both of them have an element of wonder. You want to see them, I believe.

As you can see, Harry is actually rather skilled at his job when he is on screen.

It will be intriguing to observe how his precise production debut plays out.

Harry’s Polo launch

In November, Netflix posted the eagerly awaited teaser for the documentary, which was produced by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, on X.

The caption read: “On December 10, Polo, an inside look at the fast-paced and glamorous world of the sport, will be available on Netflix.

“Watch top players from across the world compete in the highly competitive U.S. Open Polo Championship, both on and off the field.

“From executive producersPrince HarryandMeghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”

The show provides viewers with a “unprecedented, behind-the-scenes look into the passion and determination” that propel some of the world’s best polo players, “revealing the grit behind the glamour,” Harry said in a statement.

He continued: “We’re proud toshowcasethe true depth and spirit of the sport – and the intensity of its high-stakes moments.”

According to the video, Adolfo Cambiaso, Poroto Cambiaso, Louis Devaleix, Timmy Dutta, Keko Magrini, and Nichotas are among the athletes who will be featured in the documentary series.

According to Harry’s close friend Nacho Figueras, “imagine riding a horse at 35 mph while someone is rushing at you at full speed.”

“Polo is a way of life, not just a sport. We breathe, we eat, and we sleep,” Nacho went on.

With Prince Archie, age five, and Princess Lilibet, age three, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have established a new life in California since resigning from their royal duties in 2020.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry s Netflix shows won t work

According to an expert, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Netflix series won’t succeed because they need to quit criticizing the royal family.

Phil Dampier discussed the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes’ impending documentaries on food and polo on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive broadcast.

When Prince Edward began producing numerous documentaries about his own family, the royal author asserted: Documentary production has never really gone well for the royals, especially Prince Edward. That was a disaster.

In order to avoid falling into the same trap, Harry needs to control himself. Hopefully, he will stop slagging at the royal family in his documentaries and go on to other topics.

According to the streaming site, the program is “a new documentary series that follows elite global players and offers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced world of the sport.”

Phil noted that while it’s reasonable that Prince Harry is experimenting, he asserts that the response to the polo documentary hasn’t been entirely positive.

“I don’t think it’s gone down that well,” he added of the Polo one.

The royal blogger went on to say: It seems that Netflix users are not happy because there isn’t much of the prince on the service.

Following the debut of her lifestyle business, American Riviera Orchard, which has allegedly completed filming but has not yet been given a release date, Meghan is scheduled to star in her cooking show.

Following her 2022 reality docuseries Harry & Meghan, which provided viewers with an inside glimpse into their lives, this is her second Netflix production.

We’ll probably see her in the kitchen preparing some of her favorite pasta meals or whatever, pouring out some of her favorite red wine, and doing this, that, and the other, Phil continued.

We’ll see how she handles that.

Phil went on: I’m not sure if it [Meghan’s food show] will be successful.

As noted by Matt Wilkinson, Royal Editor of The Sun, “I think the contrast is stark when you show off this wonderful lifestyle you have in California, cooking and attending polo events, compared to two hard-working royals meeting survivors of domestic violence and meeting people who have been living on the street and that’s who want to make a difference.”

Phil concurred: The difference is that they seem to be attempting to profit from it rather than carrying out good deeds, but that’s where we are, isn’t it, regrettably?

Mixed reaction

Ahead of the show’s premiere next month, fans seem to have differing opinions about the Polo trailer.

One wrote: “Never thought I’d be excited to see a polo documentary.”

“I’ve never had interest in polo until now, I’ll try every effort to watch this,” another person remarked.

“I’m so excited,” a third person said.
