Meghan Markle promises to have men lining up to kiss you with New Year fashion tips in unearthed blog post
Prior to being referred to as the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle operated The Tig, a lifestyle blog.
In addition to providing her followers with a wealth of recipes, wellness advice, and city recommendations, the website also featured some original New Year’s Eve styling ideas that were discovered in a blog post that was discovered more than ten years ago.
Meghan, now 43, wrote a guide to New Year’s Eve attire in 2014 to get into the holiday spirit almost ten years ago. As 2025 draws near, some of the advice is still relevant today.
In contrast to the popular “sequined mini dress” that is popular throughout this season, the former Suits star encouraged the audience to dress differently at the moment.
In the blog article, the future princess, who married Prince Harry in 2018, said that the advice would make you seem “smokin.”
She stated at the time, “Every year, we all look forward to counting down as the ball drops, champagne glass in hand – all while looking impeccably dressed.”

As the 31st draws near, the piece went on, “But the problem year after year is figuring out exactly how to switch up your style routine because wearing a sequined minidress and heavy smoky eyes just isn’t going to continue to cut it.”
The only thing you’ll have to worry about come New Year’s Eve is who to kiss because you’ll look smokin’ if you follow The TIG’s straightforward guidelines. This year, however, there’s no need to hem and haw for a whole week before New Year’s Eve. “Happy New Year!”
Wearing a jumpsuit, which is still a classic and in style more than ten years later, was Meghan’s first styling recommendation.
Markle stated that New Year’s Eve “is your best bet since it’s sexy, but not too provocative,” but “there’s rarely a good occasion to try your hand at the one-piece.”
The mother of two also revealed that being taller means you’re in luck since you may wear jumpsuits that are more difficult to pull off, like ones with bright colors.
She advised choosing a simpler, sleeveless style if you’re smaller since it will draw attention to your legs, which appear longer in a jumpsuit.
Throwing a biker jacket over your maxi dress will make you “stand out in a crowd,” according to the former actress, who “ignored royal protocol on her wedding day.”
She went on to say, “This is a great way to still look chic in cooler weather.”
Put on a pair of tights insulated with fleece that won’t show through your chiffon skirt if it’s extremely cold.
Are you not a big fan of long skirts? Meghan said that a “beaded mini” was “chicer” than a metallic one and suggested replacing it.
The fashionable mother advised, “To achieve the same striking effect, try finding a multicolored version and pairing it with neutrals on the top (like a white chiffon blouse) and bottom (like black lace-up heels).”
MEGHAN MARKLE’S STUNNING GIVENCHY WEDDING DRESS
Before her wedding to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle dazzled spectators by arriving at St George’s Chapel in Windsor wearing a gorgeous Givenchy custom gown designed by British designer Clare Waight Keller.
Because of Clare Waight Keller’s classic and refined style, flawless tailoring, and laid-back attitude, the former Suits actress decided to collaborate with her.
Meghan wanted to draw attention to the accomplishments of a top British talent who is currently the creative director of three highly regarded fashion brands with a global following: Givenchy, Chlo, and Pringle of Scotland.
The design, which Meghan and Clare worked closely on, highlighted Meghan’s slim waist and had a graphic open bateau neckline that elegantly frames the shoulders.
The Duchess of Sussex suggested that readers “wear sequins in an unexpected way” as her fourth piece of advice.
Try a long-sleeved top or, better yet, a maxi dress covered in sequins.
“It’s time to go big or go home,” she told them, since it’s New Year’s.
Finally, Meghan advised including a splash of red into your New Year’s ensemble; but, there are a few things you should do to make sure your costume “stands apart from the one you wore on Christmas.”
“Usually, when we celebrate the New Year, we all wear black or white, but that’s boring,” she said.

The 6 ways to beat festive bloat – and when it could be something serious
Meghan continued in the post, “If you choose the right pieces, red is the perfect bold hue because it’s definitely festive but doesn’t feel like you’re just recycling your outfit from Christmas.”
“You should choose something that feels elegant; a dress with a touch of lace or a detailed skirt with slits would both work well.”
