Metro Detroit weather: Cold snap continues with wind chills near -20

This afternoon will see a modest decrease in the cold, but the day will begin with more unpleasant weather. Wednesday morning’s wind chills are in the minus double digits, with some reaching as low as -20.

DETROIT (FOX 2):With wind chills this morning bottoming out at about 20 degrees below, the cold is only getting worse.

Observation:

As temperatures moderate this afternoon, the Extreme Cold Advisory ends at noon, but the day will still be dominated by wind, cold, and clouds.

Snow is once again predicted until tomorrow morning as a cold front moves in tonight. Roads will get slippery due to totals that fall between 0.5 and 1.5 inches.

A quick blast of cold air moves in behind this system, but there is some good news: less severe cold is approaching. By next week, we’re hoping for a “balmy” 30 degrees Fahrenheit!
