Metro Detroit weather: Dense Fog Advisory to start a damp day

As the fog gradually clears, sporadic rains take its place.

DETROIT (FOX 2):A Dense Fog Advisory is in force until 10 a.m. on Monday, so we’ll be waking up to a thick layer of fog. In certain places, visibility is almost nonexistent, so drive carefully and give yourself more time for your morning commute.

The misty beginning gives way to a soggy day. Throughout the afternoon, there will be sporadic showers and a consistent breeze from the south that is between 10 and 20 mph. Despite the overcast skies, temperatures will rise to a high of about 52 degrees, keeping us pleasant. Although it’s not the most beautiful day, it’s a good idea to have an umbrella around.

The sky is largely gloomy and the weather remains rainy tonight. In order to prevent ice conditions, temperatures drop to a low of about 36. But as the week progresses, the coolness in the air will begin to prepare the way for a cooler pattern.

Temperatures will drop to about 42 degrees on Tuesday, with largely overcast sky. It will still feel a little moist, but it will be quieter and colder. By Wednesday, winter is beginning to show itself. Rain and snow showers are both in the forecast for the day, which could result in a wintry mix. It’s a good warning to get ready for slicker travel when colder air comes in, even though large accumulations aren’t anticipated just yet.

The temperatures will continue to drop as the week goes on. It will feel much more like December in Michigan as highs reach the 30s. A clipper system is anticipated to strike us (again) Thursday night and into Friday, bringing with it more snow. Higher snow accumulations by the conclusion of the workweek could result from this.
