Metro Detroit weather forecast: Spotty rain showers for most of day as temps continue to trend up
With a run of rainy weather and rising temperatures, the year is coming to an end. But next week is winter again.
DETROIT (FOX 2):As 2025 draws nearer, Metro Detroit is in for a wet stretch of time.
Friday’s high is 45 degrees, and the majority of the day is dominated by sporadic rain showers. There may be a brief break early this afternoon, but there won’t be much sunshine. The chill is increased by southeast winds of 10 to 15 mph.
This is where things start to get Overnight, unusual temperatures rise to an unseasonable 50 degrees. Rain continues to make everything moist, and southern winds increase in speed, reaching 10 to 20 mph. A moderate Saturday is predicted due to the milder air over night, but don’t put away your umbrella just yet.
Saturday is overcast with intermittent showers of rain and a high of about 56. The wet air will persist, maintaining the comfortable, inside atmosphere even when it’s mild. Before the pattern changes once more, the warmer air is pumped in by continuous winds coming from the south.
With a full-on soaker on Sunday, the script is turned. At times, heavy rain will complicate plans for being outside, and temperatures will drop to about 48. As we approach 2025, colder air begins to sneak in by Sunday night, indicating a chillier, wintry atmosphere.
Take advantage of the warmer weather while it lasts because colder days are quickly approaching. By January 2, 2025, we’ll slide back into the 20s and 30s.
