Metro Detroit weather: Rainy start to a mild day with highs around 50

The afternoon will see a change from rain to light sprinkles before drying out.

DETROIT (FOX 2):The new workweek is off to a rainy start as Southeast Michigan experiences steady mild to moderate rain.

Monday morning’s rain is expected to continue until 10 a.m., after which it will change from steady rain to intermittent sprinkles until lunch. Fortunately, snow won’t be an issue because the high temperatures will be mild—near 50 degrees. Throughout the day, winds will typically be between 10 and 20 mph.

It will be overcast but dry tonight, with lows of 36 degrees. Luckily, it won’t be really cold. Tuesday’s temperature will reach 44 degrees with largely cloudy skies; it’s lower than it is today but still above normal.

By the middle of the week, snowflakes could fall a few times as cold air rushes in. Light snow showers and highs of about 34 degrees are possible on Wednesday, but Thursday will be far colder with highs of 22 degrees!

As we enter the weekend and move back into the upper 30s and low 40s, some moderation is anticipated. Prepare for an exciting week!
