Metro Detroit weather: Wind Advisory with gusts as high as 45 mph possible Monday

With gusts of up to 45 mph, a wind advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. A dry day with a potential of light snow later in the day and rising clouds. Lori Pinson, a meteorologist, has your prediction.

DETROIT (FOX 2):A windy day is ahead of you! This afternoon, gusts of up to 45 mph are possible.

Southeast Michigan is under a wind advisory that will be in effect from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.

The wind, of course, affects how today will feel. Southeast Michigan is seeing temperatures this morning that are close to 20 degrees, which is up to 10 degrees cooler than they were 24 hours ago. It’s a frigid start because the wind chills this morning are in the single digit level due to the wind blowing up.

Despite normal afternoon highs in the mid-30s, those strong winds will result in wind chill values in the 20s throughout the day. Wind gusts are likely to be an issue during the workweek.

There will be sunshine in the morning, followed by more clouds in the afternoon, then light snow in the evening.

This week’s temperatures stay at or above freezing, with little variation from seasonal averages. As a clipper system—a swiftly moving area of low pressure that originates in Canada—moves over the state on Tuesday night, there is a risk for further snowfall.

Perhaps a wintry mix as the weekend draws near.
