Micah Parsons forced to clarify Mike McCarthy remarks after Dallas Cowboys star’s comments about under-fire coach

Micah Parsons, a star for the Dallas Cowboys, has provided clarification on his remarks regarding head coach Mike McCarthy.

Earlier in the season, Parsons reportedly voiced his opinion regarding McCarthy’s work ethic.

Following the Cowboys’ defeat by the Philadelphia Eagles on November 10, Parsons seemed to disparage his head coach in his postgame remarks.

Parsons has explained his meaning for the first time since those remarks.

“When I’m talking about ‘here,’ I’m thinking the Dallas Cowboys,” Parsons stated.

“I have no connection to Mike McCarthy’s time with the Packers; I was in middle or primary school at the time.

“I’ve only ever been here, so when I talk about the Dallas Cowboys and what they’ve accomplished most, I think about the players.

“Obviously, I’m not disparaging [McCarthy’s] career or his accomplishments as one of the most successful coaches. I could have performed better.

“I simply didn’t finish because I was upset and wasn’t as considerate as I usually am. I didn’t believe the context would be interpreted that way. I’m responsible for that.

“I wanted to leave the locker room quickly because I didn’t want to finish the game and I lost it.

“I’ll be extremely cautious about what I say the next time. That’s why I apologize.

Parsons initially attempted to defend the team’s veterans, but he invoked McCarthy’s name in the process.

The day after she made the first remarks, Parsons and McCarthy met for a conversation.
