On Fox NFL Sunday, Michael Strahan made a live announcement about a new motorsports career endeavor.

In the 2025 season, Michael Strahan will be joining Indycar for a special event.

The Fox NFL Sunday cast revealed that Fox will host the Indianapolis 500 in 2025 during the show’s Week 12 episode.

Michal Strahan will run in the race, Curt Menefee revealed as part of the announcement.

“Michael Strahan is actually going to drive the Indy 500 this year,” Menefee stated.

Strahan is operating the pace car that will lead the racers around the track before to the start of the race, even though he isn’t actually driving an Indycar.

Strahan remarked, “I can’t get into it,” gesturing to the Indycar.

To demonstrate how he would be driving in the race, Strahan escorted his co-hosts from the race car to the pace car.

“Corvette ZR1, this is my ride right here,” he stated.

“I’m going to drive the pace car, I love this car, this is rad!”

Strahan stated that he is eager to take the lead but is unsure of how fast he will be permitted to drive.

“I don’t know Curt, I don’t know if they’re gonna limit me or what,” he replied.

“But I know this is a fantastic car, so I’m going to check what we have here.

“I’m setting the pace, so I know I have all the drivers behind me.

“We’re gonna see if they can keep up.”

Rather than sitting in the passenger seat, Strahan gets to drive the car around the course, which Menefee stated he thought was really cool.

The 109th edition of the Indianapolis 500 will be held on Sunday, May 25th, 2025.

After winning the previous two races, Josef Newgarden plans to attempt a three-peat the following year.
