Michigan family’s rare identical triplet with liver cancer faces yet another fight

After receiving a liver cancer diagnosis, a 10-month-old girl is fighting for her life and doing more than just playing. Then things became more complicated.

FOX 2, Ann Arbor, Mich.In and of themselves, baby Josephine and her identical triplet sisters, Konstantina and Valkyrie, are uncommon. JoJo, who is 10 months old, had to battle liver cancer on her own. Additionally, a respiratory infection made it more difficult.

We were introduced to by Mom Stacy Wells and her family.

Wells discovered a strange tumor in Baby JoJo’s abdomen, and the two of them spent several weeks in the hospital.

The backstory

“JoJo is currently fighting high risk metastatic catablastoma which is a liver cancer,” Wells stated. “JoJo is currently completing her second round of chemotherapy. She has spent more time in the hospital than expected.

However, her hospital stay worsened.

“Some complications with respiratory virus she requires some oxygen support lot of suctioning of mucus,” Wells stated.

JoJo was unable to see her six siblings, including her twin sisters, because of the treatments.

“(She) definitely misses her triplet sisters, Konstantina and Valkyrie, when she is at the hospital and really all of the kids,” Wells stated.

Wells hasn’t been able to work because of JoJo’s medical care, which keeps the baby in the hospital.

“I m Still on leave of absence and still trying to figure out what the future is going to look like,” Wells stated.

March marks JoJo’s first birthday, and physicians are thinking about doing surgery, which would need more hospital stays.

The family is requesting donations from anyone who can assist them while they wait for the next steps.

“For the next six months, JoJo’s needs will continue. We’re searching for assistance that will have a big influence,” Wells stated.

Next steps:

The triplets will be reunited to celebrate Baby JoJo’s anticipated discharge from the hospital on Thursday.

“The last time I brought JoJo home to her sisters she reached out towards them and started making noises so I know she was excited to see them,” Wells stated.
