Michigan State Police investigate possible human remains discovery in Oceana County

(FOX 2):On Monday, Michigan State Police (MSP) discovered what they think are human remains in a town’s park in western Michigan.

On December 30, they received a call about a potential human remains discovery in a wooded area close to Rothbury.

On Wednesday, New Year’s Day, police reported that additional evidence had been found as the investigation proceeded. According to MSP, forensic anthropologists from the Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine at Western Michigan University arrived on the scene to aid with the recovery.

As of Wednesday, authorities were awaiting the findings of the autopsy, so the remains could not be identified.

There is an investigation going on.
