After a protracted contract dispute with the Dallas Cowboys, Mike McCarthy woke up without a job on Wednesday.
McCarthy is now a free agent and seeking employment after his ordeal ended on Tuesday.
Last week, McCarthy and Jerry Jones had lengthy discussions.
However, it became evident over the weekend that McCarthy would not be signing a new deal.
After taking over at Dallas in 2020, he managed three seasons with a 12-5 record.

The length of the contract was the main bone of contention over a new agreement, according to Tom Pelissero of NFLNetwork.
After Dallas’ season-ending 3-7 record, Jones was contacted to replace the coach.
However, Jones remained loyal to McCarthy through the season’s conclusion and stated that a new contract for 2025 was still possible.
With four victories in five games, the Cowboys had a mini-revival.
They placed third in the NFC East and had a 7-10 season overall.
Additionally, after negotiations with McCarthy went down, Dallas is currently searching for a new coach.

Troy Aikman, a former quarterback with the Cowboys, expressed amazement at the developments involving McCarthy.

Something needs to change because the Cowboys haven’t won a Super Bowl in thirty years.
Even though this is “America’s Team,” they have devolved into a laughing stock and need someone to bring them back to their former splendor.
Mike McCarthy’s successor as head coach must possess some enchantment and motivation.
Come on,Sanders, Deion.
One of the greatest athletes to ever set foot on the field, Sanders, 57, was a member of Dallas’ squad during their most recent Super Bowl victory.
“Prime Time” is precisely what he is, and the Cowboys need that energy.
Now is the ideal moment for Deion to move on as well.
