MLB insider Jon Heyman quits WFAN and hangs up on host Keith McPherson in shocking on-air meltdown

Following a heated live discussion, MLB insider Jon Heyman hung up on Keith McPherson of WFAN.

Last Friday, Heyman, 63, spoke about Juan Soto’s free agency on the network.

The 26-year-old’s future was a major source of conversation before to Soto signing his historic 15-year, 765 million contract with the New York Mets.

McPherson casually brought up a well-known error he made two years ago when Heyman joined the show over the phone.

The seasoned journalist famously claimed in a tweet at the time that Aaron Judge had signed a contract with the San Francisco Giants.

The fact that he wrote “Arson” in his post instead of “Aaron” just made his mistake worse.

“I love that you had a typo in it because that made me just feel like it wasn’t real in itself,” McPherson remarked, referring to the error.

“And I’m aware that we’ve moved on from it. However, I also mentioned that it would be fantastic if you could reveal the Juan Soto news, as that would put things in the past.

Heyman’s frustration boiled over after a few minutes.

“People believe everything I tweet, which is why I think it got so much play,” he remarked.

“I ve had 100,000 tweets and you get one that was wrong and it did say appears and I know I rushed it and it was a big mistake.”

Heyman said, his annoyance evidently mounting, “At some point, I think someone could probably drop it if they’re a nice person.”

“What I think is, one, how I introduced you,” McPherson said, oblivious to the apparent distress of his guest.

“Everyone in baseball is aware of your identity. First of all, it’s a testament to your efforts, your fan base, and how.”

Heyman interrupted at this point, saying, “By the way, I won’t be going on with you again.” The entire situation has been disastrous.

Heyman said, “I can’t even believe you said that,” after McPherson joked, “That’s okay.” To doubt my honesty…”

‘IT’S OUTRAGEOUS’

“Are you being serious right now?” McPherson inquired, beginning to realize how unhappy his guest was.

“I’m being serious,” Heyman said, referring to a previous exchange in which McPherson had inquired in jest whether he was receiving a portion of Soto’s money. Yes. asking me if my association with an agency is the reason I’m receiving a cut. It’s ridiculous.

I am aware that you are not a reporter. You have no knowledge of this. You don’t, I know that.

However, that is a ridiculous remark. You ought to be aware of that.

Heyman, who appeared to be about to cry, said, “You should know that much,” and hung up. Both you and WFAN are gone from my life. It’s really unbelievable. It’s really unbelievable.”

McPherson, stunned, said Heyman “had to go to bed” before expressing regret for the strange conversation.
