Morrisons urgently recalls £1 kitchen staple over bacteria fears and issues ‘do not eat’ warning

Because of concerns about bacteria, Morrisons has urgently recalled one kitchen essential and issued a “do not eat” warning.

The store recalled its own brand of crushed garlic because it was missing a crucial component that could make it unsafe to consume.

Customers were cautioned by the urgent notification to “do not eat the above product if you have purchased it.”

The absence of the substance “prevents microbiological growth and thereby presents a potential risk to consumers,” it has been underlined.

According to the Food Standards Agency (FSA), the food could be “potentially unsafe to eat” if this ingredient is absent.

Additionally, an FSA spokeswoman stated: “Morrisons is recalling the product mentioned above.

“Stores where the goods was sold will show point-of-sale notices.

“These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.”
