FOX 2, Detroit, Mich.According to Michigan State Police, a person who was found unconscious on I-94 was ejected from a car they were operating.
We know:
911 calls regarding a person in the left lane of I-94 near Woodward who seemed to have been struck by a car were received on January 12 at approximately 4:35 a.m.
When troopers got to the site, they discovered a woman on the shoulder of I-94 who was not responding. She was sent to a nearby medical facility.
The inquiry revealed that the woman was a Detroit resident, aged 27. According to MSP, she was the driver of a neighboring Chevrolet Impala that was involved in an accident.
MSP claims that the driver lost control of the vehicle when it was on the ramp. After running off the ramp and down the hill, the car ended up on WB I-94’s right lane.
The driver landed on the left shoulder of I-94 after being ejected following the collision. According to MSP, it appears that the motorist was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
The family has been informed. The freeway has reopened after being closed for the duration of the investigation.
What is unknown to us:
The reason why the driver lost control of the car was not disclosed by the police.
