Mum shows why you should never fall asleep doing the food shop as very Christmassy Asda haul arrives

People are in a state of hysteria after a woman revealed the hilarious mistake she made when shopping online after falling asleep.

Joanne Healy had intended to buy more food for the family and diapers for her infant as part of her weekly grocery purchase.

But only five boxes of chocolate arrived at her door since she unintentionally slept off halfway through the order.

The busy mother shared her amusing story on Facebook in the Family Lowdown Tips & Ideas group.

“Anyone else falls asleep while amending their online shopping so it doesn’t update?” Joanne asked alongside a photo of her weekly shopping, which included boxes of Dairy Milk, Quality Street, Roses, Celebrations, and Heroes respectively.

“No? Only me? I finished an Asda shop last night while I was in bed. I was awake to make the necessary changes, but I must have fallen asleep because this is all I have.

Joanne went on to say that because of her error, she had not gotten the remaining food for the week or diapers for her kids.

Additionally, the story inspired other post commentators to share their own equally amusing tales.

“I’ve definitely done this. One user wrote, “A single bottle of champagne arrived.”

“To meet the minimum spend, I would put it on there, but I completely neglected to include my actual shopping. Fortunately, the delivery man was quite funny.

Another person said, “Yep, 5 packets of cigarettes for my husband!!!”

“It happens all the time, the delivery man said with a pleasant laugh! It was somewhat of a shock to all of us and not a very well-balanced week’s diet because I believed I had looked at the entire store.

“Twice I’ve had a call off my delivery driver saying I only have a bunch of bananas on my order, would I like to cancel?!” Someone else wrote.

“Very grateful for those phone calls!”
