While hiking in Greece, a pregnant instructor died after plunging 164 feet.

As her distraught family leads tributes, 33-year-old soon-to-be mother Clara Thomann lost her balance and fell into a gorge near Plakias, Crete, on December 23.

First responders and construction workers who witnessed the fall saved the California native.

Thomann was alive and cognizant when they hurried her to the hospital, but she passed away sadly a few days later.

Her family posted on social media that she had multiple skull and chest fractures that killed her brain.

To spend the last few days with her before she died, her family hurried to Crete.

Clara liked teaching and helping others, according to a heartfelt ode they put online.

She would want us all to find reasons to get together, hug one another, and celebrate since she was always there for her family and friends.

Thomann and the infant were cremated in Athens on Friday, according to her distraught husband Elliot Finn.

At the time of the disaster, Finn was hiking.

In the days ahead, the family intends to scatter the ashes throughout Greece and Turkey.

According to Finn, her loved ones have been doing everything Thomann enjoyed for the past ten days.
