Murder Inc Records founder Irv Gotti dies at 54 a year after suffering stroke as Ye leads tributes

At the age of 54, record producer Irv Gotti passed away.

Murder Inc. Records founder Gotti passed away almost a year after having a stroke.

Although his management team did not confirm it, rumors circulated that Gotti, whose actual name is Irving Lorenzo, had experienced another stroke.

However, in the months before his passing, the celebrity had been battling diabetes.

In August of last year, he stated, “My body is deteriorating due to diabetes.”

Diabetes is inherited; I’ve had the diagnosis for my entire life.

“I get a shot of insulin when my blood sugar levels reach too high. It is reversible, but you must alter your eating habits.

Pictures of Gotti using a cane to walk had appeared online.

Throughout his career, Gotti collaborated with celebrities including Ashanti and Jennifer Lopez.

He was instrumental in getting Jay Z signed to the platform while working at Def Jam Records prior to starting Murder Inc Records.

The music mogul has received a ton of tributes.

On his Instagram, Kanye West, Ye, shared a picture of a dove.

Def Jam’s former CEO, Lyor Cohen, called Gotti one of the label’s most innovative soldiers.
