Murdered! Man Fatally Shoots Woman in SUV, Surrenders at Florida City Police Station
Florida City, Florida – On Sunday, a 48-year-old man appeared at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he was charged with the murder of a 44-year-old Florida City resident due to an alleged broken heart.
Homicide investigators were dispatched to Florida City Hall, located at 404 West Palm Drive, on Saturday to support Florida City police officers with their investigation, according to the Miami-Dade Police Department.
Sources close to the investigation tell Local 10 News that Yesenia Rodriguez was shot in the head by Alexander Roque with a Taurus Model 82 pistol as the two were driving a white 2024 Hyundai Tucson.
According to authorities, Roque then called a cousin who advised him to turn himself into the police and confess. He then utilized a WhatsApp video chat with Rodriguez’s estranged husband, showing him her body in the front passenger seat.

When Roque got to City Hall, he pointed to the murder victim in the SUV and claimed to be covered in blood. According to court documents, Roque was charged with one count of second-degree murder using a weapon.
According to sources, a man points to the murder victim in a Hyundai Tucson as he drives to Florida City Hall.
