Muscle car from 1950s that was once a Nascar racer found in ‘fabulous condition’ – and it has a secret inside

A legendary muscle vehicle with a unique surprise under the hood has been discovered in perfect condition.

The Hudson Hornet has an illustrious past that includes appearances for Disney and Nascar.

In the 1950s, the Hornet was hailed as one of the most avant-garde vehicles.

The Hornet was a Nascarhot rod from 1951 to 1954.

On the racetrack, the Hornet was difficult for rivals to defeat.

Then, in 1954, the Hudson brand and Nash-Kelvinator combined to become American Motors Corporation.

However, AMC discontinued the Hudson brand only three years later, and the Hornet followed suit.

The model would later appear in Disney’s renowned Cars movie franchise as an animated character.

Danny Mulhall recently spotted a Hornet of the second generation.

YouTuber Lou Costabile was informed by Mulhall that the vehicle belonged to one of his clients.

Mulhall found himself the Hornet’s new owner after asking the purchaser if they could barter.

After a few small repairs, it was driving about the streets once more.

From 1955 to 1957, only 25,594 were produced, according to Auto Evolution.

There are just 53,195 miles on this specific Hornet.

In addition to being in “fabulous condition,” according to Auto Evolution, it was free of corrosion.

The interior has dark green and white upholstery, while the exterior is a combination of Bermuda green and island green.

The Hornet’s engine is the biggest surprise, though.

Auto Evolution says there’s an all-original mill there.

Additionally, the Hornet’s 308-cubic-inch (5.0-liter) inline-six internal combustion engine is what quickly made the vehicle a Nascar star.

In 1955, 5,357 four-door sedans were produced, including this Hornet.

Supporters of Costabile’s YouTube channel have poured in to comment on the Hornet’s tale.

One commenter said, “This is one of the best cars you’ve ever had on!”
