Mystery over Assad’s whereabouts as plane fleeing from Syria VANISHES off radar after tyrant toppled

After the tyrant was overthrown, a jet leaving Damascus disappeared from radar, leaving the location of Bashar al-Assad unknown.

It follows the collapse of the dictator’s administration by rebels who captured the capital in a lightning strike and proclaimed victory on Saturday.

According to data from the Flightradar website, Reuters now claims that a Syrian Air aircraft took off from Damascus airport around the time the rebels captured the city.

Before abruptly turning around above Homs and flying in the opposite way for a few minutes before vanishing from the map, the plane first headed towards the coastal region of Syria, which is a bastion of Assad’s Alawite sect.

It was not immediately clear to Reuters who was on board.

Since it was unclear why the plane made an unexpected U-turn and vanished from the map, two Syrian sources stated that there was a very strong chance that Assad was killed in a plane accident.

A single source stated: “It disappeared off the radar, possibly the transponder was switched off, but I believe the bigger probability is that the aircraft was taken down”

While rebels claimed Damascus was now “free of Assad,” Syria’s army headquarters informed officers that Assad’s regime was finished, according to Reuters.

Assad’s administration has not released a formal comment.

According to another story, Assad has flown to the Khmeimim Air Base, which is run by Russia in a region of Syria that is still supportive of the regime, Walla says.
