Mystery winner still holding an unclaimed $1 million Powerball ticket and it was bought at a convenience store
ONE lottery player is unknowingly a millionaire with a winning ticket still needing to be claimed.
The staggering win was drawn a month ago in Illinois and with each day that goes by, the ticket gets closer to expiration.
On October 16, the $1 million ticket was scooped by a player of the Powerball Lottery.
The ticket was purchased at the Roberts Quick Stop convenience store in Rand Lake County.
The Powerball player was one of four to win the $1 million prize during that draw.
Surprisingly, another one of these prizes for matching all five white balls was also given to someone in Illinois, with the state scooping two winners.

The other overnight millionaires were in California and Washington.
No one scooped the jackpot on the October 16 draw and none of the match 5 winners opted for the powerplay which would have doubled their prize money to $2 million.
So, any Illinois Powerball players who did not claim their $1 million win from that draw must check their pockets and safe spaces for the winning ticket.
The numbers drawn that day were: 4, 30, 39, 44, 60 and Powerball 11.
All Powerball tickets expire a year after the draw date so there is still plenty of time to claim the win.
The winner should sign the back of the ticket before claiming it.
With such a large prize, they will be expected to collect their money from the lottery offices.
It is not the only big Powerball win that is yet to be claimed.
A Powerball prize worth $150,000 is also up for grabs and the clock is ticking on how long there is to claim it.
Lottery officials in Pennsylvania revealed the winning ticket was bought at a Weis Markets store in Montgomery Borough – around 170 miles from Philadelphia – before the draw on December 11, 2023.

A key decision made by the unknown player at the time saw them triple their prize money by paying an extra dollar for the Power Play option which was X3 on that draw.
This tripled their prize of $50,000 to make it $150,000.
To claim the ticket, the claim has to be filed with the PA lottery either in person or by mail by the deadline.
The U.S. Sun previously reported on a winner who bought their ticket last minute and scooped a million-dollar prize.
