NBA legend Dwyane Wade reveals private health battle at age of just 43
DWYANE Wade disclosed that he received a cancer diagnosis.
In a recent podcast broadcast, the 43-year-old NBA legend revealed his diagnosis.
Wade disclosed that a kidney malignant growth had been removed.
Thirteen months ago, he had to have forty percent of his right kidney removed.
He talked about how “shocking” the diagnosis was in the Dwyane Wade episode of The Why.
Wade claimed that his father’s fight with prostate cancer motivated him to seek medical attention for his own problems.

He described experiencing cramps, abdominal ache, and trouble peeing.
“While checking, I was wondering, ‘Why is my stream not powerful, and why is my urine coming out slowly? Why does it seem a bit weak? Wade stated.
Wade was found to have the tumor on his kidney following a full-body examination.
“And the doctor was like, ‘You need to have kidney surgery,'” he recalled.
Wade received the same recommendation from several additional medical professionals, and on December 18, 2023, he had the procedure.
Following the removal of the kidney part, medical professionals verified that Wade’s tumor was malignant.
Wades claimed that his medical background taught him more about family.
“My own journey to have that surgery, I think it was the first time that my family, my dad, my kids, they saw me weak,” he stated.
“I think that moment was the weakest I’ve ever experienced.
“The moment I was by myself, I was struggling, dog.”
Wade claimed that although undergoing the surgery was difficult, it was the right choice.
New rights deal
Three networks and the NBA inked an 11-year agreement for the league’s rights starting in 2025–2026.
Additionally, for the first time since the network’s 1988 debut, TNT will not be hosting any games.
ESPN and ABC will continue to broadcast the league’s 80 regular-season games, according to The Walt Disney Company.
The NBA Finals will continue to be held there, along with about 18 playoff games from the first and second rounds and a Conference Finals series for ten of the eleven years.
For the first time since 2002, NBC will broadcast the NBA again.
Up to 100 games will be broadcast on the network’s channels and Peacock streaming service each season.
In addition, it will host NBA All-Star games and include about 28 first- and second-round playoff games.
NBC will alternate with upstart broadcaster Amazon Prime to telecast one Conference Finals Series for six of the eleven years.
66 NBA regular-season games, including one on Black Friday, will be available on Amazon.
The complete Play-In Tournament and the final stages of the NBA Cup are also available on the streaming service.
Additionally, about one-third of the first- and second-round playoff games will be televised on Prime.
“I had a personal decision to make, and what it was was, ‘If this is cancerous, if this tumor, this cyst is cancerous, on your kidney, you re 41 years old, you probably need surgery because it’s something that needs to be removed so it doesn t spread,'” he explained.
Wade added that he discovered it was acceptable to show weakness in front of his family.
“As a man, you never want your family to see you weak,” he stated.
“I had to, but I didn’t want to be viewed as weak or at your weakest times.
