NBA makes final punishment decision on Anthony Edwards after Minnesota Timberwolves star’s ‘obscene’ gesture
ANTHONY Edwards was hit with a fine by the NBA this week.
TheMinnesota Timberwolvesstar was spotted on television cameras apparently making an obscene gesture.
Edwards, 23, was fined $35,000, the league announced Sunday.
It relates to an incident in last Friday’sNBACup win over the Sacramento Kings.
The 23-year-old stuck his middle finger up towards the stands while on the court.
His gesture game with 3:15 left in the first quarter when he was called for an offensive foul.

It was the second time he has been fined this year by the NBA.
He was hit with a $40,000 punishment in January for repeatedly publicly criticizing officials.
The 23-year-old is one of the faces of the league and signed a five-year, $204 million max contract in July 2023.
Edwards had 36 points in Minnesota’s 130-126 overtime win over Sacramento.
De’Aaron Fox scored 60 points for the Kings in a losing effort.
Minnesota is off to an 8-6 start so far this season.

They lost 4-1 in the Western Conference Finals to the Dallas Mavericks last year.
The NBA announced another fine at the weekend.

His remarks came during a post-game interview after a 115-114 win for the Charlotte Hornets.

The NBA Cup returned for a second season this year with the finals once again set to take place in Las Vegas.
The 30 teams were split into six groups of five teams each with games taking place on Tuesdays and Fridays from November 12 to December 3.
The six group winners and two best wild cards advance to a quarterfinals stage on December 10 and 11.
And the final four head to Las Vegas for the semifinals on December 14 and the final on December 17.
All games count towards the team’s regular-season record, apart from the championship game.
