The newest voice of NBA broadcasts has been revealed by NBC Sports.
When NBA coverage returns to NBC, legendary broadcaster Mike Tirico will be on the call.
Tirico already provides play-by-play commentary for Sunday Night Football and is the voice of other NBC Sports initiatives.
Additionally, he hosted the 2024 Olympics in the studio.
He will now make his first appearance on basketball coverage since 2016.
“I could not be more thrilled about returning courtside to call NBA games,” stated Tirico.

One of the joys of my 15-year work has been documenting the world’s top basketball players.
“My passion for the NBA, like that of many others, began during the NBA’s NBC heyday in the 1990s.
“The chance to be a part of the team bringing that iconic partnership back to life has us incredibly excited.”
From 2002 until 2016, Tirico called NBA games on ESPN.
The NBA Finals were among the approximately 375 games he called.
Sam Flood, Executive Producer, NBC Sports, stated, “We are thrilled that Big Event Mike Tirico will be taking his courtside seat again as the NBA returns to NBC and debuts on Peacock.”
“From the Olympics to Sunday Night Football to major golf championships and now the NBA, Mike is the most versatile voice in sports.”
Tirico’s inclusion on the call for games has also delighted NBA fans, who expressed their opinions on social media.
One fan remarked, “What wonderful news for basketball fans.”
Another fan remarked, “Tirico is among the top 5 best broadcasters in sports media.”
“It’s the GOAT again! “YES!” exclaimed a third enthusiast.
