New December 1 rule will ticket drivers $150 per day and see their vehicles towed within a week
Drivers will receive a 150 every day and have their vehicles hauled within a week during the Christmas season under a new law that goes into effect on December 1.
As the winter cold snaps in, authorities are stepping up their efforts to combat parking violations.
As snow blankets vast swaths of the nation, Americans are preparing for cold temperatures in the upcoming week.
According to the National Weather Service, North Dakota is one of the states most impacted by the cold, with temperatures possibly falling into the mid-teens.
As a result, Bismarck, the state capital, has implemented its yearly winter parking restrictions.
The regulations are intended to maintain public roadways free for snowploughs and emergency vehicles.

And they penalize noncompliant automobiles severely in order to enforce this.
Leaving any of the cars covered by the regulations on a public road in “any residentially zoned area” will be illegal as of next Sunday.
This parking prohibition has no time limit, unlike those in neighboring localities.
Therefore, during the active period, the offense will continue to be punished twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
Anyone found in violation of the legislation faces a citation and a $150 punishment.
For every day a vehicle is found to be in violation, a new fine of the same amount will be applied.
According to the city police, a car will be automatically deemed abandoned if it is left in the same location for more than 48 hours.
This implies that the roadblock can be removed by having it hauled to an impound facility.
In order to have their car back, drivers could then need to pay a release charge in addition to their fines.
The prohibition will be in effect from December 1 to March 31.
Only specific car classes are impacted, though.
Particularly, police are focusing on cars used for domestic reasons.
The following are impacted by the van:
- Boats
- Bumper pull travel trailers
- Fifth wheel trailers
