Mariano interviewed with WBZ-TV a week after Sen. President Karen Spilka stated that she was not considering new taxes at this time.

“We’re going to try and make sure that we close all the loopholes that Steward was able to take advantage of,” Mariano adds. “We will not permit a hospital, for example, to sell off its assets from beneath the structure.
Additionally, we’re going to check the books of businesses who plan to conduct business and tighten up on transparency.”
