NFL announces major Buffalo Bills punishment decision in final blow to Josh Allen and Co after Chiefs loss
Following the Buffalo Bills’ 31-28 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game, the NFL has announced severe penalties for the team.
The Chiefs, who will play the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59 this Sunday, defeated Josh Allen’s Bills in a playoff game once more.
Andy Reid, the head coach of the Chiefs, and his team benefited from Buffalo receiving two penalty flags during the Kansas City playoff game.
Kelce baited two Bills defenders after Mahomes’ one-yard rushing touchdown with over two minutes remaining in the second quarter put the team ahead 21-10.
Jordan Phillips, a defensive tackle, took offense at it and approached the 10-time Pro Bowl tight end, bumping him with his facemask.
The only player to receive a penalty was Phillips.

Phillips was just fined $6,722 by the NFL for the needless roughness play.
In addition, Kelce received a $11,255 punishment for unsportsmanlike behavior for the sequence.
Matt Milano, the top linebacker for the Bills, was also penalized by the NFL under Roger Goodell.
For needless roughness, the 30-year-old former first-team All-Pro was fined $11,255.
Milano tackled Kareem Hunt during the Chiefs’ late fourth quarter, which ended with Harrison Butker’s game-winning field goal with 3:33 remaining.
But during the play, the linebacker snatched Hunt’s facemask.
The referees received a lot of criticism for their perceived partiality against the Chiefs.
Head coach Sean McDermott disclosed that he cautioned the squad in the locker room about the officiating calls that might work against them following the Bills’ Championship loss.
Allen and the teammates had heard McDermott say, “We’re not going to get calls.”
His statement was similar to what Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said to the media following their defeat by the Chiefs in the Divisional Round.
“We were aware that it was us against everyone heading into the game. Ryan told reporters, “When I say everybody, I mean everybody.”
“One of my messages to the team, and this happens from time to time, is you’re going to have to – you’re not going to get calls,” McDermott said as he continued, addressing the media.
“And I believe that when you prepare a team, you mentally prepare them in advance because this is how things are going to unfold.
“You also have to deal with that. We didn’t lose for that reason.
In the postseason, Allen’s Buffalo team is 0–4 versus Mahomes’ Kansas City squad.
