NFL makes brutal punishment decision on Markus Bailey as Arizona Cardinals star releases strong statement
Marcus Bailey, a linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals, was suspended by the NFL for breaking the league’s PED policy.
It was discovered that Bailey had traces of an NFL-banned drug in his system.
Bailey will not be allowed to play for the Cardinals until at least January 5 due to the failed test.
Bailey voiced his disapproval of the NFL while accepting the punishment, claiming he had never purposefully consumed a prohibited substance.
Bailey wrote on X, “I would never have purposefully taken a prohibited substance.”
“This was clearly a contamination issue with only 0.05 nanograms found but due to the NFL s strict liability policy, it was best for the team and myself to accept the suspension now.”

Bailey criticized the NFL’s regulations for being overly stringent, claiming that they do not account for the potential for unintentional food or supplement contamination.
The same arguments were made by his attorney, Rick Collins, to justify the league’s stringent policy.
Collins remarked, “The NFL has an unforgiving strict liability policy.”
“Regardless of how the prohibited substance got there, each athlete is accountable for it.
“The NFL does not give a reduced sanction for food or supplement contamination, which is a common worry, in contrast to several other sports.
For the majority of prohibited substances, there is no cutoff point below which accidental intake can be partially or completely pardoned.
“We are looking into where the trace contamination came from. Markus has chosen to accept the suspension in the interim.
Many fans didn’t accept the justification that Bailey and his attorneys blamed his suspension on the NFL’s rules.
The ever-familiar ‘I got caught, but anyone who knows me knows I wouldn’t do this’ comment. “A story as old as time,” remarked an admirer.
“Man he was JUST tested a month prior… sure sounds like he thought the coast was clear for a bit,” a another supporter commented.
“NFL players acting like they don t do test and peptides is hilarious,” another fan commented.
