Northeast DC Shooting – Man Convicted, Sentenced To 24 Years For Killing One, Injuring Another
Washington – ( Recent News ) According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, a man from Washington, D.C., was sentenced to 24 years in prison on Friday for a shooting in the Northeast in 2021 that left one man dead and another injured.
In the second-floor hallway of an apartment building located in the 2300 block of 4th Street, Northeast, on December 10, 2021, DeJuan Bell, 47, discharged a revolver at least seven times, according to evidence presented in court.
Court records indicate that Bell shot at two unarmed individuals, killing Davon Childs and wounding another.

According to court officials, Bell entered a guilty plea to second-degree murder on March 1, 2024.
Following Bell’s 24-year prison term, a judge mandated that he serve five years of probation.
