Orion Township man dies in early morning house fire

FOX 2.A house fire on Joslyn Road in Orion Township on Wednesday morning claimed the life of a 61-year-old man.

At 5:30 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to the residence located in the 2400 block of Indianwood Road, where the homeowner was reportedly trapped in the basement.

The man was rescued by first responders and sent to a local hospital, where he passed away from smoke inhalation.

Another person who was living in the house at the time managed to get out unharmed.

To find out what caused the fire, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Fire Investigations Unit and OTFD are conducting an investigation.
