Outcry in the Neighborhood: Teen’s Shooting Death Sparks Shock and Questions
TAMPA, FLA — Detectives from Tampa Police are appealing for assistance from the public as they hunt down the person who shot a 14-year-old kid and left him for dead.
On Wednesday at around 3:30 p.m., Jevario Buie was discovered shot to death. He was discovered close to the railroad tracks between Rome Avenue and West Busch Boulevard.
The area’s neighbors express disbelief and say they were unprepared for anything so unbelievable.
Three homes down the street from where I live, at around 3:40 p.m., a neighbor reported hearing three gunshots.
A neighbor claimed to have heard the shooting last week and wanted News Channel 8 to keep his identity confidential.
Some neighbors told stories of the cops being everywhere around their houses.
Greg Smith remarked, “A row of forensic vans down this road, a row of police cars down the road.” “Had no idea what was happening.”
Smith claimed that everything took place a few steps from his fence.
He claimed that a neighbor who was at home noticed someone fleeing the scene of the incident.

Police in Tampa are working to solve yet another adolescent gun violence case.
According to Tampa Police Department spokesperson Jonee’ Lewis, “These are our children.” We beg you to keep his mother and family in your thoughts; they are utterly devastated. They demand an explanation because they are heartbroken.
It’s awful, a neighbor remarked. It’s incredibly awful. He had a bright future ahead of him, and here he goes, a young life taken away.
A needless tragedy that has raised anxiety in this area.
“A little impatient,” Smith remarked. “It bothers me when kids in my neighborhood are carrying handguns.”
The public is urged by investigators to provide any information, no matter how small, since it may aid in their work.
Lewis stated, “As you can imagine, the family is heartbroken, but at this time, they are asking for privacy.” “A call like that is one no family wants to get. Nothing like this should happen to a family. Thus, the very least we could do is provide any information or submit any suggestions.
