“We wrote this song when we were 6 or 7. It s an international sensation. So it wasn t a matter of why, it was why not?
The House of Harlow founder, who looked stunning in a red long-sleeve tight dress, then went on to explain the emotional reason they both decided that now was the time to work together again after all these years.
We ve been approached both together and separately to do a reboot of The Simple Life. But both of us didn t want to do something just to do it.
We were texting over Christmas of last year and, on The Simple Life we worked with a little boy named Braxton who was 3 then and now he s 23.
And so over Christmas we were talking about how crazy it was and Paris was like it s about to be 20 years since Simple Life should we do something? And I was like I don t know, should we?
So in February, we got together over tacos and decided to do it, but to do it our way. We decided how many episodes it would be.
How each episode would look like. We were very involved with the entire concept and every part of it.
Paris, who dazzled in a crystal-encrusted long-sleeved black gown, chimed in: We ve been having so much fun. When Nicole and I get together I felt like a teenager again.
Going back to Arkansas was another adventure. We ve stayed in touch regularly with Braxton throughout the years, I ve messaged him a lot and we re so proud of him. He s a lawyer now and doing really well.
Paris added that her relationships with Braxton and his family, including Grandma Curly, were the most meaningful part of filming the show in 2003.
She appeared to hold back tears as she discussed wishing Curly, who passed away at the age of 89 in 2020, could ve been part of this reboot.
In addition to Braxton making an appearance on the series, Paris and Nicole s A-list friends will also pop up in for cameos.
Grammy-winning singerSia, 48, will help Paris and Nicole audition hundreds of people for their Sanasa opera.
Paris admitted to wanting Sia to join the show after the songstress became a sister to her while co-producing her latest album, Infinite Icon.
A clip showed Sia in hersignature black and blonde wigsitting in the audience with Paris and Nicole as they burst out in laughter while filming scenes at the theatre.
Sia will offer the girls guidance into what they should be looking for talent-wise on the stage to produce their opera successfully.
In the two decades that have passed since filming The Simple Life from 2003-2007, the pals are closer than ever – despite a previousestrangement in their friendshipduring their 20s.
Pariswent on to marry businessman Carter Reum and share two kids together:son Phoenix, 1, and daughter London, 1, both born via surrogate.
Nicole has been married to Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden since 2010.
Together, they sharedaughter Harlow, 16, and son Sparrow, 15.
Nicole confessed that her kids were a big reason that she decided to do the reboot.
My kids were a really big part of me wanting to do this reunion. They re old enough now to understand and watched The Simple Life after it had this viral TikTok moment.
They loved it and pushed for me to do this and they were so happy and supportive.
In a clip of Paris & Nicole: The Encore, the Beverly Hills bombshells can be seen holding opera auditions in a large theatre – both wearing gorgeous red gowns.
As they are listening to a woman belt out a classic on the stage, the TV stars interrupt.
“Sorry, can you hold for a sec?” Paris asked, before Nicole added, “Something’s not right.
“I think it’s the words,” Paris said as Nicole confirmed: “It’s definitely the words.
Paris then asked the vocalist to try it again but this time, only use the words Sanasa.
The performer obliges, to which Paris then dropped her trademark line that s hot.
