Patrick Mahomes makes major outfit choice change for Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 12 clash after devastating Bills loss

In preparation for the Kansas City Chiefs game in Week 13, Patrick Mahomes has made the decision to change up his outfit.

The Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Buffalo Bills 30–21 on the road last Sunday, their first loss of the season.

On ESPN’s Monday Night edition of Manningcast last year, Mahomes disclosed that he has a peculiar superstition of wearing the same pair of red underwear to every NFL game since he started playing.

The 28-year-old also revealed that when the Chiefs are winning, he doesn’t wash his gameday underwear.

Last November, the three-time NFL MVP clarified, “As long as I’m winning football games, I’ll keep the superstition going. If we’re on a hot streak, I can’t wash them, you know, I just got to keep it rolling.”

Following the Chiefs’ Week 11 loss after starting the season with nine consecutive victories, an X user reminded supporters that Mahomes will be washing his gameday underwear for the first time in the 2024 regular season.

“Mahomes does not wash this pair unless Kansas City loses 10 games this season he wore them.”

Fans were undoubtedly repulsed by Mahomes’ superstition.

One person said, “Filthy, I knew he smelled bad,”

“I don’t care about superstition in this case that’s nasty work,” a different person wrote.

“We didn’t need to know this,” a third person said.

During his 2023 ESPN appearance, Mahomes stated that the red underwear was purchased in 2017 by his wife, Brittany.

He told NFL greats Eli and Peyton Manning, “First, I’m not throwing y all down because my wife Brittany got them for me, but I have to wear them.”

For the first time since Christmas of last year, the Chiefs suffered a defeat last week.

Mahomes wants to break the cycle of not wearing dirty underpants.

He completed 23 of 33 passes for 196 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Buffalo loss.

The Kansas City offense only managed 259 yards at the end of the season.

In the playoffs, they might face the Bills once more.

CBS’s mics captured Mahomes’ conversation with Buffalo’s standout quarterback Josh Allen following the game on Sunday.

The Chiefs quarterback said, “We’ll do it again, baby,” and the two embraced.
