Pennsylvania Woman Faces Consequences for Deadly Use of Baby Wipes on Child

Bedford County, Pennsylvania — For killing her boyfriend’s newborn son, who was discovered with baby wipes stuck in his throat, a Pennsylvania lady was given an 80-year prison term.

Chelsea Cooley, 33, entered a guilty plea to the 2022 murder of the 3-year-old boy, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office.

The youngster died from hypoxia and strangulation after he was discovered unconscious in May 2022.

Around the time police suspect the toddler acquired the injuries, a neighbor claimed to have heard a female voice saying, “Shut up.”

According to the attorney general’s office, Cooley hesitated to assist the youngster as dispatchers asked and postponed dialing 911.

Attorney General Michelle Henry declared, “The facts of this case are horrific.” “This defendant should have been taking care of this child, but instead she did the unimaginable.

He was a helpless, innocent 3-year-old boy who was cruelly murdered by her. We hope that today’s admission and sentencing provide some justice, even though the child’s loved ones are devastated by the defendant’s acts.

In addition to admitting to the felonies of strangling and endangering the welfare of a child, Cooley also entered a guilty plea to third-degree murder.
