Pete Davidson is struggling to book new jobs after abruptly canceling his comedy tour and Peacock show’s second season
Following the sudden cancellation of his comedy tour and the second season of his Peacock show Bupkis, PETE Davidson has been having trouble finding new employment.
After damaging relationships in the TV and movie industries, the 31-year-old Pete has had trouble finding new employment, an insider informed The U.S. Sun.
According to the source, the real trouble started when Pete abruptly canceled season 2 of his sitcom Bupkisin March, which had previously received approval.
“When Bupkis was set for Season 2, and Pete suddenly backed out of it, people were furious with him,” said a source.
Several of the Saturday Night Live alum’s standup appearances for his Prehab tour were canceled in July when he checked himself into treatment.
According to the insider, in addition to the cancellations, Pete’s own team has been having trouble aligning with him.

“His team keeps trying to get him to go on social media, so he went on, but then he got back off,” according to an insider. “The guy is just really hard to work with.”
The comedian apparently had a deal for a new movie earlier this year, according to the U.S. Sun, but the production was canceled because he stopped attending meetings.
CAREER ON PAUSE
A second source, however, maintains that the Bodies Bodies star is still receiving offers despite the fact that he hasn’t had any significant roles in TV or films this year.
Every week, he receives offers for TV shows and movies, but they don’t always fit with his goals.
In reality, he receives proposals all the time, but he is still determining exactly what he wants.
The second insider went on to say that since his summertime rehab stay, Pete has prioritized his mental health and hasn’t wanted to take on jobs or return to work too soon.
The Daily News also revealed last month that Pete has been having trouble finding new work after leaving the second season of Bupkis.
Following the announcement of the termination of the second season, the outlet stated that Pete “voluntarily sent big payments to his co-stars Edie Falco, Joe Pesci, and Bobby Cannavale for the work they’d lost.”
The article also stated that “Hollywood is taking a break from Davidson,” and that in an attempt to help him resurrect his career, his management team had been attempting to get him to appear as a guest host on Saturday Night Live.
Last month, when pal John Mulaney hosted the late-night comedy show, Pete made an appearance in one of the skits.
Pete had a brief role in the movie The Pickup, which started filming in February and went to post-production in May, according to his IMDB biography.
Additionally, he finished the voiceover for a part in the 2025 animated movie Dog Man.
Despite Pete’s relatively sparse 2024 career, the second insider argued to The U.S. Sun that fans should anticipate seeing more of the King of Staten Island actor in the upcoming year.
“He is looking at some things for the spring, which will hopefully be announced in January.”
“He has things going in the right direction, and he’s considering a bunch of different projects which will likely be confirmed sometime in the new year,” said a source.
Fans have probably seen the comic in ads for Smartwater, Taco Bell, and Manscaped, even if he hasn’t had a noticeable influence on the big or small screen this year.
“Commercials featuring Pete Davidson have had 95,718 airings” according to iSpot.tv during the last 30 days.
GETTING HELP
The U.S. Sun recently reported that, following a brief, private liaison with Bachelor star Maria Georgas, Pete booked himself into treatment once more last month.
The U.S. Sun earlier reported that the celebrity was temporarily obtaining treatment in Florida, but an insider close to him provided further context for the assistance he was receiving.
“He has a therapist in Florida who works on processing traumatic memories and dealing with PTSD.”
“Pete travels to see this therapist on a regular basis for treatment.”
The 31-year-old may still have mental health issues, but according to the person, he is “clean and in a good headspace.”
They made it clear that Pete was receiving treatment for mental health issues rather than drug addiction.
Pete Davidson’s Rehab Stints
In 2017, after receiving a diagnosis of PTSD and BPD, Pete checked himself into a recovery facility.
He visited the Sierra Tucson Treatment Center in Arizona in 2019.
In June 2023, the comedian received treatment at a different mental health center.
According to a source, Pete checked himself back into recovery around the end of July 2024, but he departed the institution after just a few weeks.
The U.S. Sun reported in November 2024 that Pete had once more entered a rehabilitation facility, this time in Florida.
RELATIONSHIP RIFTS
According to insiders who spoke to The U.S. Sun, Pete and Colin Jost, his former SNL co-star who is now a ferry venture business partner, had a major falling out amid his professional and mental health issues.
Colin, 42, “wants nothing to do” with Pete, according to a source.
A business associate near their Staten Island boat operation, meanwhile, attempted to minimize any rumors of a split, claiming the friends just drifted apart.

Just before his summer rehab stay, Pete ended his relationship with Madilyn Cline, his last committed girlfriend, according to an exclusive article from The U.S. Sun.
In the past, he dated reality star Kim Kardashian, 44, and actress Chase Sui Wonders, 28.
