Pokémon TCG Pocket makes big changes to long-awaited feature following disastrous launch

Since its October 2024 introduction, TCG Pocket has been a big success, but it was lacking a feature that fans were clamoring for.

The T in TCG Pocket represents trading, however at the time of release, there was no means to trade cards with other players.

Rather, you had to use Pack Points to buy them or keep opening packs to find the final card you required.

To ensure you acquire the card you want, you must open a lot of boosters because each pack you open earns you five Pack Points.

Although it was indicated as coming soon, the atrading option was part of the TCG Pocketat launch.

In late January, it was announced that trade, even cards with a one-star rarity, will be made possible before the end of the month.

Additionally, it clarified that in order to trade, players would require a certain currency, which, prior to the feature’s implementation, users believed to be acceptable.

Trade Stamina, which recovers over time like other types of Stamina, and Trade Tokens are two entirely new currencies needed for trading.

You will lose more than just the card you wish to trade because Trade Tokens can only be acquired through card exchanges.

Even worse, when a card was traded, players barely got any tokens. For instance, trading a one-star card would get you 100 Trade Tokens, but trading requires 400 tokens.

To make a single transaction, you need a lot of extra cards because you and your trading partner must spend these resources.

Tokens cannot be obtained by exchanging low-value cards, which you probably have in excess.

Despite waiting a long time for the trade option to be enabled, many gamers chose not to use it as a result of this demand.

Pok Mon will modify the functionality after hearing concerns about the problem.

According to its statement, the trading feature’s item criteria and limits were put in place to stop bot abuse and other illegal activities involving numerous accounts.

We are aware that some of the limitations are making it difficult for players to take advantage of the functionality in the intended informal manner.

In order to address these issues, we are constantly investigating methods to enhance the function.

In the future, we also want to provide a variety of methods, such as event distributions, for obtaining Trade Tokens.
