Popular restaurant chain and Cracker Barrel rival reveals fans will see change to iconic shoestring fries in just days

A well-known chain that competes with Cracker Barrel has announced that its famous shoestring fries will alter in a few days.

The “best taste” and “highest quality” were promised by the adaption, which the casual restaurant announced last week.

Plans to start preparing its famous shoestring fries the “authentic way” were disclosed by Steak n Shake.

The company has chosen to honor its roots by asserting that the identical product would have been prepared using just beef tallow centuries ago.

All sites will use all-natural beef tallow by the end of next month.

“In order to achieve the highest quality and best taste, our fries will now be cooked in an authentic way, 100% beef tallow,” stated Chris Ward, Steak n Shake’s chief supply chain officer.

Kristen Briede, the chief global development officer, clarified: “The customer deserves and desires the best. Steak n Shake is providing the greatest fries by using just beef tallow.

In 1934, the chain was first established on Route 66.

Since then, its locations have offered handcrafted milkshakes, thin, crispy fries, and Original Steakburgers.

The news was made by the Steak ‘n Shake account on X, which was once known as Twitter.

By asking social media users if fries should be cooked in 100% beef tallow, they initially appeared to be teasing the arrival.

The following post stated: “All locations will employ 100% all-natural beef tallow by the end of February 2025.
