Popular WhatsApp feature is AXED and people hate its ‘annoying’ replacement
Users have taken notice of WhatsApp’s SMALL update, and many are not impressed.
An alternative that users have already stated they “hate” and find “annoying” has replaced the well-liked “typing…” message at the top of conversations.
Rather, beneath the most recent chat message, a fresh conversation bubble animation has appeared.
The icon has been compared to the one found in the Messages app on the iPhone.
One user commented on X, “I don’t like the new typing indicator on WhatsApp.”
“WhatsApp now has the three dots typing thing like iMessage and I Hateeeee it,” said another member.

“Hey @WhatsApp, is it possible for us to return to the way that so and so is typing? A third person grumbled, “This dot dot dot bouncing up and down is getting to be annoying.”
“whatsapp was bad enough and now this stupid typing button update wtf,” another user commented.
As more people notice it on their phones, the feature seems to be expanding.
It was initially noticed a few weeks ago by Android users.
However, it has now been detected by iPhone users on their app. Millie Turner, a senior technology reporter for The Sun, observed the change on her iPhone this morning.
The Meta-owned app has previously made minor, divisive adjustments.
The firm’s simple capitalization of “Online” and “Typing…” earlier this year sparked outrage.
The social network reversed course and claimed it was just “a small test” because of this.
WhatsApp has been contacted by The Sun for comment on whether or not this most recent change is permanent.
The animated speech bubble hasn’t been disliked by everyone, either.
“WhatsApp finally removed the “typing” notification from the top and brought it downwards to where it belongs,” one user replied.
