FOX 2, Port Huron, Mich.Investigators are trying to determine whether a car fire and a fatal gunshot that occurred on the same street Tuesday morning are connected.

Police said they were summoned to a burning car in the 3000 block of Vanness Street shortly before 12:15 a.m. Police think the incident might have been arson based on the preliminary investigation.

They were dispatched to a shooting at a house in the 2500 block of Vanness approximately fifteen minutes after getting the fire complaint. Officers discovered the body of a 35-year-old guy who had been shot many times when they arrived.

The shooting and fire are being investigated by the Detective Bureau and Port Huron Major Crimes Unit.
