Prison Term For Idaho Man’s Attempt To Spread ‘HIV’ Through Sexual Contact

DEBARYLIFE – Prosecutors said that an Idaho man who intentionally attempted to spread HIV through sexual contact was sentenced to up to 30 years in prison last week.

The Ada County Prosecutor’s Office sent a news release stating that their investigation revealed that 34-year-old HIV positive Alexander Louie was not taking his medicine and that he “purposely having sexual contact with both men and teenage boys in hopes to transfer HIV to them.”

Regarding his HIV status, he misled these victims. The prosecution’s office stated that the defendant had sex with 30 to 50 different men and boys, including a 16-year-old, according to his own admissions.

When Louie initiated “an online sexual conversation” with someone he thought was a 15-year-old boy in August, the inquiry was launched as a child enticement case, but it was actually an undercover detective.

Authorities said that Louie was taken into custody after he made an attempt to arrange a sexual encounter with the individual he thought was a 15-year-old child.

After the investigation, Louie entered a guilty plea to the felony charge of transmitting HIV-positive body fluids. According to court records, he was also found guilty of felony sexual battery with a juvenile and child enticement.

Louie was given a sentence of 30 years in jail on Friday; the prosecutor’s office stated that he must spend at least 16 years of that time before becoming eligible for parole.
