Putin is playing ‘nuclear blackmail’ with Oreshnik missiles and threats to blitz west are BLUFF, ex-Russia PM says
VLADIMIR Putin’s former prime minister claims that his threats are a bluff and that he is engaging in “nuclear blackmail” with his new hypersonic weapons.
With his new Oreshnik bombs, Putin has threatened to destroy Kyiv, claiming that several hits would be equivalent to a nuclear weapon.
However, Putin is “engaging in nuclear blackmailing,” according to Mikhail Kasyanov, the prime minister during Putin’s first term.
According to Kasyanov, the despot is bluffing in an attempt to get the West to make concessions.
“Any diplomatic concession, he (Putin) views as a weak link,” he told Times Radio. He’s increasing the stakes because of this. Already, he is engaging in nuclear blackmail.
“He’s playing precisely like that. The current governments of Germany and the United States are being blackmailed and are terrified of Mr. Putin.

According to Kasyanov, using nuclear weapons would not help Putin and would be denounced by nations, including China and other allies.
“They [the West] don’t realize that Mr. Putin is more terrified of nuclear weapons than they are,” he remarked.
“Because he knows the response would be.
“Not nuclear in their reply, but an ordinary normal military reply which will destroy the whole military infrastructure and Putin’s administration just physically.”
In response to Putin’s warnings, Volodymyr Zelensky has said that he is attempting to intensify the conflict in order to thwart peace.
“He has no interest in ending this war,” Zelensky stated tonight. Putin also wants to stop others from putting an end to this conflict.
“His current sabre-rattling with oreshnik is aimed solely at disrupting the efforts of President Trump that are sure to follow his inauguration.”
Ending Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on “day one” is something Donald Trump has promised.
That is probably going to require direct negotiations between the United States and Russia, something that the Biden administration has been reluctant to do.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Trump would demilitarize the area along the sealed front line and freeze the conflict in place.
The US would keep arming Ukraine to the teeth to keep Putin from invading again, but Kyiv would not join NATO for 20 years.
According to the sources, neither American troops nor an international organization would be involved in policing the demilitarized zone, but it is unclear who would do so.
“We can do training and other support, but the barrel of the gun is going to be European,” stated an unnamed Trump team member.
“American troops and women will not be dispatched to maintain peace in Ukraine. And we’re not footing the bill. Get the British, French, Germans, and Poles to do it.
The military guru is anticipated to spearhead peace talks in 2025 after Trump named former LTG Kellogg as special envoy for Russia and Ukraine.
Kellogg expects that his strategy for bringing the war to a close will persuade Putin to abandon his plans to retake Soviet territory.

As Putin escalated the threat of nuclear reprisal, the Kremlin viewed the employment of the ATACMSweapons as a dramatic escalation of hostilities.
When Trump takes office in January, Kellogg is anticipated to address both Kyiv and Moscow as he looks for answers.
Trump’s win means ‘high risks but higher possibilities’ for Ukraine war
According to Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Goncharenko, Donald Trump’s election to the White House entails “higher risks but higher possibilities.”
According to the MP, Trump’s unpredictable nature may benefit Ukraine because the president-elect “doesn’t want his own Afghanistan” like Biden did when he withdrew toward the beginning of his term.
The MP responded to a question about whether and how Trump can put an end to the conflict in Ukraine in a day, as he has claimed in the past:
“I believe he can, but the question is how much it will cost and how he views it. I’m not sure.
“From a Ukrainian standpoint, I believe that Donald Trump presents both more threats and opportunities for Ukraine.
Compared to Donald Trump, Kamala Harris was more predictable. We don’t currently know what he will do or how it will end.
However, Donald Trump made a crucial statement regarding oil in his victory address.
“The war in Ukraine and the Russian government in general could be greatly impacted if Donald Trump lowers the price of oil globally. That’s only one example, then. I mean, it’s not a clear-cut scenario.
“I believe that Donald Trump, who has won so much, doesn’t want to lose, especially now that he has won so much.
“He doesn’t want to receive his own Afghanistan like Biden received at the beginning of his term.”
