Red Wings snap 5-game losing streak with a 6-5 shootout win over the Sabres

AP, Buffalo, New York The Detroit Red Wings defeated the Buffalo Sabres 6-5 in a shootout on Monday night, ending a five-game losing streak with two goals from Andrew Copp.

After falling behind 5-3, Buffalo’s comeback was initiated at 10:27 of the third period by Copp’s second goal. Five minutes later, defenseman Moritz Seider knotted the score. To complete the triumph, Dylan Larkin scored the game-winning goal in the shootout.

In his NHL debut, Sebastian Cossa of Detroit got a win after making 12 stops in Ville Husso’s place. After Husso made four saves on seven shots in the first period, he came on at the beginning of the second.
